Letter from our Re-Entry Team

Dear Church Family,
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have worked consistently to be the church and to maintain the safest possible environment to come together for worship. This has taken many forms, from Drive-In Services to wearing masks and social distancing. We have adjusted our plans based on changing circumstances in our community and church family. You have responded amazingly and with Christian love. We are deeply grateful for how you have remained connected and committed to our church during this time.
Today, we announce a new step based upon current conditions. Effective immediately, masks are no longer required while inside the church building. This is due to a 90-percent drop in daily cases in Laurel County from the peak over two months ago. Community spread has been greatly diminished, but has not been eliminated. Some of you feel more comfortable continuing to wear a mask, and we welcome you to do so. With the decrease in cases, many of you will prefer to not wear a mask in the building, and you are welcome to do so. We ask that everyone respect the decision that others make at this time, and take whatever precautions you feel are best for you.
We understand that some of you may be excited for this change, while others may be wary, and yet others may feel this change should have come weeks ago. Even with differing sentiments, the Holy Communion liturgy lovingly reminds us that we are “one in Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world.” Our connection in Christ is always ultimately greater than any differences. We remain ever grateful to be on this journey with you.
